Interesting though they may be ... they're no substitute

in the middle of the real thing, either in a charter barge or on board an
excursion vessel! So, if you think you'd like to experience the
reality behind the images, why not book a place in a barge, or excursion
vessel, in advance, ready for the next match? There are four

What do barges do when
they're not racing in the Thames Match? The majority have to earn their
keep, so they make themselves available for charter work. Those barges that have entered
the Thames Match this year and which are available to charter during the
year have hyperlinks on their names which will connect you to their own
websites. Look on the front page here. If
you go to these you can get more information on how to go about
chartering. This facility is in keeping with the policy
of the Thames Match to provide a showcase for the barges to the public,
and in doing so help them gain private or corporate charters, which
provides the revenue needed for their upkeep. |
